The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Such beautiful words, and yet, we are often far too caught up in our own needs and wants that we forget to take even a moment out of our own hectic day to speak with the Lord and listen to what he has for us. We so often miss the blessings he has for our lives, or the things he has already blessed us with, because we shift our focus to the things we do not have rather than realizing who we have with us always. The Holy Spirit was sent to be with us once the Lord Jesus ascended from the earth into Heaven. If you’ve been saved by grace through Jesus Christ, do you realize the very same spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives within you? Just thinking about that blows my mind! The Holy Spirit lives within us! All we need to do is invite him into our hearts, and yet we so often get too used to this truth that we become fearful of things that would never get to us if we realized the power that is within us through the Holy Spirit.
This fear can consume us before we even realize it. Satan comes like a thief in the night. He slowly chips away at you, as a sculptor would chisel away at ice. The little things that were never a problem for you have now taken on new meaning, and, before you even realize it, walking across the room becomes a difficult venture.
I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s travel back to about fifteen years ago, when life was much easier (and I was much younger). The dream of being a casting director for film and television was alive and well in my heart. There was nothing else I had wanted to be since I was fifteen years old. Sure, I had thought about being an elementary school teacher, preferably second grade, but I never imagined anything outside the world of working in the film industry.
When you’re so convinced of what your future will be, you do everything in your power to make that happen. I’m going to share the joys, the struggles, the heartache, the victories, & the defeat that brought me to where I am today.
